EASY Cranberry Sauce

Dice pear

1 cup fresh cranberries

1 very ripe and soft pear

2-3 Tablespoons Maple Syrup, Honey or Coconut Nectar (adjust to taste)

Juice of 1 orange


1.  Wash cranberries and pear then dice the pear to tiny chunks

2. place cranberries, pear and syrup (or other) and juice from the orange in a saucepan with water and cook on medium to low heat stirring occasionally

3. Allow to cook until cranberries and pear are soft and bursting open (about 8 minutes)

4. Remove from heat and mash with a hand masher until smooth.  

Serve warm or cold


TIP: If needed you can add more juice or a splash of water (optional* you can add a splash of an Grand Marnier or a Smirnoff Caramel Vodka is nice too)

This is a fantastic topping to any Thanksgiving or Holiday meal.  It is also excellent on top of fresh apples or on a leftover turkey sandwich the day after Thanksgiving.
